Some newborn sessions are soft and sweet.. and some carry an even deeper meaning.
This beautiful baby girl’s session was one of those. Behind these delicate images is a story of courage, resilience, and a mother’s love long before birth. Her mommy went through a very difficult high-risk pregnancy, filled with uncertainty, emotional weight, and countless injections along the way.
When planning the session, her family asked if we could include that part of their journey in a meaningful way. And of course, we did.
It was different.. personal, emotional, and deeply significant. Because sometimes the most powerful newborn images are the ones that tell the full story of how hard a family fought to finally hold their baby in their arms.
A Session Designed With Meaning
One of the things I value most in my work is creating sessions that feel personal and true to each family.
Sometimes that means using sentimental items, heirlooms, or colours that hold meaning. Sometimes it means keeping things simple and timeless. And sometimes, it means making space for something unexpected.. something that may not be traditional, but carries deep emotional value.
That was exactly the case with this newborn session.
The final images are still soft, delicate, and artistic, but they hold another layer of meaning. The injections were carefully included as part of the styling to honour this mother’s journey in a respectful and thoughtful way. The result is a gallery that feels intimate, honest, and full of heart.
It may be a little different from a traditional newborn session.. but that is what makes it so unforgettable.

Beyond the symbolism, this session was also filled with so much sweetness.
From the gentle wraps and soft pastel tones to the peaceful sleepy poses and loving family portraits, every image reflects the beauty of this new chapter. Baby girl was absolutely precious throughout the session, and the gallery came together in a way that feels tender, elegant, and deeply emotional.
And then there is that one image.. the baby surrounded by the many injections her mommy had to take during pregnancy. A striking, emotional portrait that says so much without needing many words.
It is not just creative. It is powerful.
It is the kind of image that one day this child may look back on and truly understand.. how loved she already was, how strong her mother had to be, and how much this family endured to welcome her into the world.

Newborn sessions are best booked during pregnancy, with the photo shoot taking place within the first 1–3 weeks after birth.. while still allowing flexibility, because babies tend to make their own plans.
