Every birthday deserves its own celebration. In my SW Calgary studio we design a themed setup around your child's favourite colours and characters — props and outfits included — for playful, joyful portraits that capture exactly who they are at this age.

How the Session Works
There’s more to a great birthday session than just showing up and smiling.. here’s what we plan together:
- A style that matches the age and vibe.. sweet and simple for 1st birthdays, fun for kids/teens, elegant for adults
- Colours and setups.. clean neutrals, bold tones, or a themed palette
- Props and details.. I provide Studio props, and you’re welcome to bring sentimental items
- Outfit guidance.. so everything photographs beautifully and feels cohesive
- Birthday packages designed for different ages and goals
- Optional add-ons.. include family, pets, extra images, and more

What to Wear for Your Birthday Photoshoot
Outfits make a big difference in how timeless (or trendy) your photos feel.. so I help you plan this part too.
Avoid distracting patterns and busy outfits with too many colours or mixed textures that create strong contrast on camera. Simple and cohesive always photographs best.

Poses, Styling, and Setups
Birthdays look different at every age.. so we plan the vibe first - Sweet, Fun, or Elegant, then we choose outfits and setups that match.
1st Birthday Styling
Soft, timeless, simple. Neutral tones photograph beautifully, and small celebration details (number “1”, balloons, simple props) keep the focus on your baby’s expressions.
What to bring: a small sentimental item, a favourite toy, any specific outfit of your choice.
Kids + Teens Styling
One classic look + one fun look works best. Think clean outfit first, then something that shows personality (colour, jacket, favourite dress, sporty vibe, hobbies).
Props we love: a book, sport item, instrument, hobby item, graduation/achievement detail.
Adult Birthday Styling
This is all about clean lines and flattering structure.. blazers, fitted dresses, monochrome, satin textures, and simple accessories. Bring 2–3 outfit options and we’ll choose what photographs best in studio lighting.
Family and Loved Ones Are Always Welcome
Birthday sessions feel even more meaningful with the people you love. Depending on your package, we can include:

- Full family portraits
- Couples portraits (adult birthdays)

Professional Make Up

For adult birthday sessions, professional makeup is an excellent add-on if you're looking for a polished, camera-ready appearance.
To enhance your experience, I offer professional makeup services in partnership with Sephora at Chinook Centre. Your makeup will be applied by a Sephora Beauty Advisor, ensuring you look radiant and elegant, just 1 to 2 hours before your session. This simple add-on provides an extra boost of confidence for your photos at a small additional fee.
