Hello, dear moms and dads,
First of all, congratulations on the arrival of your little one! I know these first days can be a whirlwind of emotions — exhaustion mixed with overwhelming love and all those tender moments that will soon feel like a beautiful blur. It’s truly an honour for me to be part of this chapter of your family’s story by capturing these irreplaceable early memories 🥰
As you prepare for your upcoming newborn photography session, I wanted to offer some caring guidance on how to select the best outfits and styling elements that will help create those timeless, delicate portraits you see in my gallery.
These tips are designed to make your experience smooth, stress-free, and ensure you fall in love with every image.
In these sessions, baby is always the star of the show, and my goal is to capture them in their purest, most delicate essence.
At my studio, I provide everything needed for your baby’s portraits:
- Soft, cozy wraps in neutral tones: beige, ivory, soft grays, pastels, and many other colours and tones.
- Hand-selected tiny outfits, bonnets, and headbands designed especially for newborn photography.
- A curated collection of delicate props, baskets, and textured layers that enhance the images without overpowering your baby’s natural beauty.
If you have a special family heirloom, a handmade blanket, or a meaningful cultural item, I would be honoured to include it in your session. These details bring extra heart and uniqueness to your photos, turning them into true treasures for generations.
If you have chosen to include family and sibling photos (which I always highly recommend!), the key to stunning, harmonious portraits is simplicity and soft coordination.
- Flowy dresses, simple tops in soft tones like ivory, cream, pastel blush, or earthy hues photograph beautifully.
- Think soft fabrics like cotton, linen, or chiffon.
- Avoid tight or structured clothing that may feel uncomfortable during the session.
- I also offer a studio collection of beautiful dresses and lifestyle outfits you’re welcome to use, making it even easier for you.
- Simple, classic shirts in white, grey, beige, or soft pastels work wonderfully.
- Avoid logos, graphics, or loud patterns that could distract from the delicate feel of the session.
- Pair with neutral trousers, beige pants, or classic blue jeans.
- Girls: soft dresses in ivory, pale pink, blush, or other gentle hues.
- Boys: plain white, grey, or beige shirts with jeans or neutral pants.
For families, I generally suggest white or neutral tops combined with jeans or beige pants for everyone.
If you love a bit more colour, pls bring it! I recommend selecting a single tone and letting each family member wear different variations of it — for example, shades of dusty rose, sage green, or soft blue.
This creates a cohesive, elegant look while still allowing personality to shine through.
There are no strict rules when it comes to what to wear — I always encourage families to be themselves, this is the most important! Feel comfortable and enjoy the session. Together, we’ll create beautiful memories that reflect your family’s authentic story.
I know how overwhelming these first weeks can feel — your body is healing, your baby is adjusting, and sometimes just making it out the door feels like a huge victory.
Please don’t feel pressured to have everything perfect. I’m here to support you every step of the way.
If you’re unsure about outfits or colour combinations, feel free to send me pictures of what you’re planning — I’ll be more than happy to help you coordinate and simplify the decisions.
My mission is to make you feel beautiful, confident, and at ease, so you can truly enjoy this experience and create lasting memories without any stress.
I can’t wait to welcome you and your precious little one to my studio soon 🥰
Warmly,
Fernanda
