Step 1: The consultation — planning your dream session
Before shoot day, we chat about your vision: the colours you love, whether you want studio or outdoor, who's joining (partner, kids, pets), and any details that matter to you. We'll plan your outfits from my studio wardrobe so you don't have to shop or stress. By the time we're done, you'll know exactly what to expect.
Step 2: Shoot day — what actually happens (and how long it takes)
Depending on your package, your session runs roughly one to three hours — unhurried on purpose. You'll get settled, change into your first look, and we'll ease in gently. I keep the mood light and fun, with plenty of breaks. Most moms tell me it flew by and felt more like a pampering session than a "photoshoot."
What we photograph first (and why I often start with your partner or family)
If your partner or kids are joining, I usually photograph them with you early, while everyone's fresh and the little ones still have patience. Then we move into your solo bump portraits — the images that are all about you.
Step 3: The gallery reveal — get the tissues ready
About a week after your session, you'll receive a personalized online gallery of your favourite images. This is everyone's favourite part. Fair warning: happy tears are common.
Step 4: Receiving your edited photos & timelines
Once you've chosen your images, I hand-edit each one and deliver high-resolution files ready to print and treasure. You'll know the exact timeline up front, so there's never any wondering.
What to do the day before & day of your session
A simple checklist to feel your best:
- Hydrate well and get a good night's sleep
- Avoid trying brand-new skincare right before (no surprise reactions)
- Wear loose clothing on the way so there are no waistband marks
- Bring any personal pieces you'd like to include
- Arrive a little early so we start relaxed (and add Sephora makeup if you'd like that glam touch)
