You don’t need to source props, put together a backdrop or clean up the frosting afterwards. We prepare the decorations and props before you arrive, and studio baby outfits are included. We’ll plan the colours and available theme with you.
Bring a cake that suits your baby’s needs and your everyday baby essentials. Family portraits, the cake smash and a bath-and-splash finish are all part of the same session. We’ll take care of the photographs and the studio cleanup.

For family portraits, choose comfortable pieces in complementary colours. Cream, beige and soft tones work beautifully with many of the sets.
Bring your cake, your baby’s everyday essentials and a clean change of clothes for the trip home. A familiar comfort item can help them settle in.

A warm welcome for your family.
I’m Fernanda, founder of the studio. I’ve been photographing babies and families since 2010, with care for the light, posing and little details that make each photograph feel personal.
Bia is also a photographer at our studio and photographs Cake Smash sessions. Your session may be with Fernanda or Bia; Bia often photographs our weekend sessions. If you have a photographer preference, please let us know before booking so we can check availability.
We’ll plan the colours and details with you, help your family settle in and follow your baby’s pace throughout the session.

How much is a cake smash session in Calgary?
The session is $468 CAD plus tax. It includes two hours in the studio, family and sibling portraits, a styled cake smash, a bath-and-splash finish, and 20 professionally retouched digital images delivered in colour and black & white. A $50 booking fee is deducted from the total.
What age is best for a cake smash?
Most families choose a date around the first birthday. Sessions can be planned between 6 and 18 months; tell me your baby’s age and we can discuss a setup suited to their stage. If you need finished photographs for a party, allow for the gallery and editing timelines before choosing your date.
Do you provide the cake?
Please bring your own cake. It is not included in the package, so you can choose ingredients that suit your baby’s dietary needs and allergies. Confirm ingredients directly with your baker. We can coordinate its colours with the studio setup.
Are outfits, decorations and props included?
Yes. Studio baby outfits, the backdrop, props and decorations are included. We plan the colours and available theme together. You are welcome to bring a special outfit or meaningful item, too.
Can parents and siblings join the photographs?
Yes. Family and sibling portraits are included. We photograph everyone together before the cake comes out, while outfits are still clean and your baby has time to settle in.
What if my baby is shy or does not want the cake?
We follow your baby’s pace and take breaks when needed. Nothing is forced. A curious look, a tiny taste or a cuddle with you can be just as lovely as a big messy moment. The session also includes portraits and a bath setup.
When will we receive our photographs?
Your viewing gallery arrives within 7 business days. After you submit your favourites, your 20 edited images are delivered within 30 business days, in colour and black & white. If you need them for a birthday celebration, contact me before booking so we can plan around that date.
Who will photograph our Cake Smash session?
Your session may be photographed by Fernanda or Bia, our studio photographer. Bia often photographs Cake Smash sessions on weekends. If you have a photographer preference, please tell us before booking so we can check availability.
